Ladies and Gentlemen,
The Maritime University of Szczecin is pleased to invite you to the conference: OWE - ENVIRONMENT, EDUCATION, BUSINESS AND WORK, organized in Szczecin on October 6, 2022.
The aim of the conference is to present the subject of the development of Offshore Wind Energy (OWE) in Poland, taking into account the role of the West Pomeranian province and the Maritime University of Szczecin as a research, training and educational centre for future employees combining and integrating education with industry:
- integration of science, business and ecology with the West Pomeranian Province;
- education and promotion of offshore wind energy for a wide group of recipients;
- promotion of the studies in Industrial Engineering and Offshore Wind Power Plants at the Faculty of Marine Engineering of MUS and planned post-graduate studies;
- strengthening the role of the Scientific Council for OWE operating at MUS;
- promotion of educational activities of the Provincial Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management (PFEP&WM) in Szczecin.

Form of the meeting: stationary Maritime University of Szczecin, Szczerbcowa 4The conference will be divided into two sessions:
- The plenary session - there will be presented thematic introductory and substantive papers relating to the current situation of the offshore sector.
- Panel sessions dedicated workshops and discussion panels in themed rooms:
- Education: The education process of the future staff of the OWE industry, graduate profile, industry needs and expectations, internships, views through the eyes of students, MUS educational facilities - laboratories.
- Business: West Pomeranian supply chain for the offshore sector and opportunities to support the development of offshore wind energy.
- Human and the environment: Municipalities, local governments, investment financing, joint university-industry projects, university-industry cooperation current state, development opportunities, PFRP&WM.
Events accompanying the conference:
- Job fairs with an offer of employment and internships for students and youth.
- Presentation of the VR Virtual Reality Laboratory to support teaching activities related to the construction and operation of offshore wind turbine.
- Visit on m/s Navigator XXI - MUS research and training ship.
Form of disseminating the conference results:
- Conference newspaper: „The Maritime University is catching the sea wind” (information and promotion texts on the subject of offshore wind energy supported by photos).
- Documentary television film: „West Pomeranian offshore” (a report showing key attractive threads related to offshore business and education, telling about the curiosities of the sector based on the shots of offshore wind farms).
